Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU
Location: Austin, Texas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 10:00 AM – 8:30 PM, weekdays only (no weekends, holidays, or on-call)
Job Summary
- Provide perioperative care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) with a focus on postoperative and post-procedure patient care.
- Evaluate patient responses to treatment and manage pain according to American Society of Peri-Anesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) standards.
- Anticipate surgical/procedural needs based on knowledge of procedures and pathophysiology.
- Work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume surgical environment.
- Must be able to "hit the ground running" with minimal onboarding.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas.
- Minimum 3 years of recent full-time experience in Post Anesthesia Care (PACU), including experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
