Job Opportunity: RN PACU

Location: Pensacola, Florida
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 9:00 AM – 9:30 PM
Hours: 40 hours per week

Job Requirements & Expectations

• On-Call: 4 shifts of 12 hours within a 6-week period
• Weekend: Every other weekend required
• Holiday: Required to work any holiday that falls on a regularly scheduled shift

Required Certifications

• ACLS (American Heart Association)
• PALS (American Heart Association)
• BLS (American Heart Association)

Required Licenses & Credentials

• Current RN license verified through Nursys within 30 days prior to start
• License and primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
• Valid Driver’s License or State ID (must not be expired and address must match records)

Requirements / Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Florida
• Minimum 2 years of experience in PACU - Post Anesthesia Care
• PACU experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

• Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics with a minimum passing score of 80%
• Passing score of at least 80% on the EKG exam (updated version as of Dec 2023)
• Completion of unit-specific checklist (optional for onboarding)
• Completion of onboarding education attestation and contract worker onboarding modules
• Cerner test-out and training checklist with signed attestation
• Submission of a forward-facing badge photo (white or blue background, no filters)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Ascension Color Vision test (completed prior to start, updated every 3 years)
• MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted
• Varicella: Documented proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider; no declinations accepted
• Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted
• Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination
• Influenza vaccine: Optional; if declined, mask required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
• Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite
• TB Screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes; if positive, negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire required
• Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
• 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter

Documentation & Verification Required Prior to Start

• Professional resume/profile
• At least two professional references
• Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 30 days of assignment
• EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 90 days of start
• Skills checklist completed within one year and updated annually
• Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start
• Employment verification for the past seven years
• Confirmation of assignment documentation on agency letterhead

Additional Notes

• All certifications must be American Heart Association (AHA) approved
• Some documents and tests require annual updates or re-verification if there is a break in service longer than 90 days
• Certain onboarding modules and attestations must be completed and uploaded by the agency or onsite prior to clearance

This position is suitable for experienced RN PACU professionals who meet the certification, licensing, and health requirements and are comfortable with on-call, weekend, and holiday work obligations.
