Job Opportunity: RN - Step Down Unit (PCU/Stepdown)
Location: Hazard, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Description
- Work on the 3 South Stepdown unit
- Patient ratios typically 1:4 or 1:5 (may fluctuate with census and call-ins)
- Orientation provided bi-weekly
- Must reside within 100 miles of the facility to be considered
- Previous PCU/Stepdown experience required
Required Qualifications
Licensure
- Valid Kentucky RN license or compact RN license for Kentucky
Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification
- Current ARH EKG Exam and Telemetry Exam (unit-specific)
Experience
- Minimum of 2+ years of nursing experience, with prior experience in PCU/Stepdown units
Health Requirements
- Proof of 2 MMR vaccinations or positive titer
- Proof of 3 Hepatitis B vaccinations or declination
- Annual Influenza vaccine (October-March) or approved exemption
- Proof of 2 Varicella vaccinations or positive titer
- Tdap vaccination (valid for 10 years) or declination
- TB Quantiferon blood test within one year prior to start
- Annual physical or health statement signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP indicating clearance to work without restrictions
Background and Compliance
- ARH 20/20 Background Check (including education and employment verifications) within 30 days prior to start
- ARH Kentucky Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry verification within 30 days prior to start
- ARH 20/20 Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start
- Submission of ARH Assignment Confirmation within 24 hours of offer acceptance
- ARH Submission Packet including cover page, resume, skills checklist, driver’s license, and license/certification verification in one PDF
- Two professional references required (one charge or higher, one supervisor reference within the last year)
- Completion of ARH Core Competencies annually (HIPAA, Patient Bill of Rights, Safety Orientation, Bloodborne Pathogens, Fire Safety, Infection Control, Elder Abuse and Neglect, Age Specific Care, Cultural Diversity, Advance Directives)
- ARH Skills Checklist and Competency Exam specific to scope of practice within one year prior to start
- ARH Employee Health Attestation Form completion required
Additional Notes
- Schedule is 36 hours worked / 48 hours off over a two-week pay period unless otherwise noted
- Ratios and assignments may fluctuate based on census and staffing needs
- Start date on job posting is the required start date
- Candidates must not be submitted to more than one job at a time
