Unit Details

• Med Surg RN 7N
• 29 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: Days 1:4-5; Nights 1:5-6

Required Qualifications

• BLS
• 1-2 years acute care nursing experience

Clinical Responsibilities / Patient Population

• Cares for ortho trauma, vascular, urology, neuro-spine, OBGYN oncology, and acute medical patients
• RN titrates drips following a prescribed nomogram
• Common drips include heparin; occasionally nitro, bivalirudin, Cardizem, and insulin
• RN does not need to read telemetry strips
• RT support is present
• No vents

Schedule

• RN shifts: 0700-1930, 1100-2330, 2300-0700
• Every other weekend
• Every other holiday
• No call or standby
• No self scheduling; block scheduling to the best of their ability depending on staffing

Floating

• Float required to other adult medical/surgical nursing units

Additional Details

• Charge nurse on all shifts takes an assignment
• Nursing assistants are present
• Scrub color: any color, clean and professional
• Orientation includes 1 day of computer training and 1-2 precepted floor orientation
• Local candidates within 80 miles of the facility have reduced client rates
• Clinician must have an end date 6 months prior to submission if they previously worked there
