CT Technologist (Computed Tomography) - Night Shift
Location
- Omaha, Nebraska
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Night shift
- 12-hour shifts
- 36 hours per week
- Includes Friday, Saturday, Sunday 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM shifts
- Call and holiday coverage as needed and scheduled
Job Description
- Perform quality CT exams across all procedures offered by the department
- Competent and willing to learn new procedures
- Perform scans efficiently, meeting benchmark and team standards
- Conduct quality assurance (QA) activities
- Maintain department stock and ensure compliance with standards
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, families, students, and healthcare personnel
- Procedures include Neuro, Body, MSK, CT Angiography (CTAs), Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures (biopsies, ablations, drain removals), 3D reformats, colonography, enterography, urograms, trauma scans, and dual energy CT understanding
- Floating within the CT department to other locations under the same manager
Equipment Used
- GE CT scanners (8 total: 4 with 256 slices, 3 with 64 slices, 1 with 16 slices)
- EPIC EMR system
- McKesson PACS
- Bar Code Medication Administration system
Required Skills
- Proficient with computers and basic navigation, including email applications
- Ability to multi-task and communicate effectively
- Ability to handle difficult or challenging customer interactions and escalate appropriately
- Experience working in a Level 1 trauma center required
- Hospital experience preferred
Required Qualifications
- State of Nebraska Medical Radiographer License
- ARRT Certified CT Technologist (CT) and Radiologic Technologist (R)
- Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) certification
Orientation and Training
- 6-week orientation for outside candidates
- Includes training at various locations with an assigned preceptor
- IV line education and department-specific processes covered
- Mid-point progress check at 3 weeks
Additional Information
- Dress code: Red scrubs or red t-shirt with department emblem
- Department has 8 CT scanners across campuses
- Non-billable orientation hours: 12 hours
- Call-off policy allows up to 36 hours off every 13 weeks
- Local candidates within 100 miles are not accepted
