Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Interventional Radiology (IR)
Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- Preferred: PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Interventional Radiology (IR), ICU, or Emergency Room (ER)
- Neuro experience preferred
- Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required
Department & Work Environment
- Department: Interventional Radiology (IR)
- Number of suites/labs: 1
- Common patient diagnoses/types: Diagnostics, Embolisms, Carotid Stents, Thrombectomies
- EMR/Equipment: EPIC & Siemens - Artis Icono
- IR Techs: Neuro IR techs available
- Manager/Charge Nurse: Present on each shift; charge nurse takes assignments
Scheduling & Shifts
- Shift hours: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM (Monday to Friday, 4 ten-hour shifts)
- Scheduling: Cyclic scheduling, self-scheduling not specified
- Call requirements: Call rotation approximately 10-13 days per month, including weekends and holidays
- Floating: May float within Radiology (IV starts, transport, file room coverage) and possibly to other facilities for stroke or IR cases
Orientation & Training
- Unit/department-specific orientation: 2 weeks
- RN Orientation includes a pass/fail exam (open book) with a required 90% score to continue
Additional Notes
- Must have a valid driver's license at time of submittal (used to verify candidate is within 50-mile radius)
- Radius rule: Candidates must live within 50 miles and cannot be currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI and Dignity)
- Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to comply may result in contract termination
- Attributes for success: Reliability, flexibility, personable, professional, and patient-oriented
- Return to Office (RTO) required within 7 days of contract start; no additional RTO extensions allowed
This position is ideal for experienced IR RNs seeking a 13-week contract in a dynamic interventional radiology setting with a focus on neuro and vascular procedures.
