IR/Vascular Tech Position - Wisconsin (Marshfield)
Job Details
- Specialty: IR/Vascular Tech
- Location: Marshfield, Wisconsin
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Department: IR / Vascular Tech
- Certifications Required: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA)
Work Environment
- 7 procedure rooms total (4 Cath Lab/EP & 3 IR/Vascular)
- Average 20+ cases per day across all rooms
- Common procedures include:
- IR: Port placements, liver biopsy, IVC placements, G-tube placements, PICC & Central line placements, Neuro procedures (coiling, thrombectomy, embolizations)
- Vascular: Femoral-popliteal bypass, AAA repair, carotid procedures, EVAR, angiograms, and more
Job Duties
- Prepare procedure suites and ensure radiation safety setup
- Calibrate and troubleshoot fluoroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
- Pull supplies, set up sterile tables
- Scrub in and assist physicians with procedures (device exchange, guidewire manipulation, catheter placement, balloon & stent deployment)
- Manage radiation dose and imaging angles
- Clean, restock, and turnover rooms
- Sheath removals
Experience & Skills Required
- Minimum 2 years of IR experience
- Specific experience requirements may vary depending on assignment location

Staffing & Scheduling
- Cath Lab staffing: 1 RN, 3 Techs
- EP team: 3-4 person team
- IR team: 1 RN, 2 Techs, anesthesia support for neuro cases
- STEMI call team: 4 persons (1 RN, 3 Techs)
- Shifts: 4 ten-hour days per week (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM) plus call; rotating day off
- Alternative schedule: 5 eight-hour days (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
- Call rotation: Weeknight and weekend call approximately once every 3 weekdays and once every 3 weekends (Fri-Mon)
- Holiday call may be required
- Call response time: 30 minutes
- Floating: Hybrid for vascular cases
Orientation & Training
- 2-3 full days of training/shadowing with buddy call
- No call first week; second week on call with buddy; then solo call
Additional Notes
- Clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
- Scrubs provided; own scrub caps allowed
- Prior work with this facility requires a minimum 6-month gap before reapplying
