Travel RN Opportunity – ICU/IMC Float

Location: Lake Havasu City, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Specialty: ICU / Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) Float
• Shift: 7 AM – 7 PM or 7 PM – 7 AM
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
• Weekend Schedule: Rotating weekends
• Experience Required:

  • Minimum 2 years recent acute care experience
  • At least 1 year travel experience preferred
• Certifications Required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH Certification
  • Preferred: TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Licensure: Current state RN license required

Unit & Facility Information

• Facility Type: Community hospital and regional referral center
• Beds: 171 total; ICU – 16 beds, IMC (including ICU Overflow) – 30 beds
• Trauma Level: Level 3 Trauma Center
• Patient Population: Adult and Geriatric
• Patient Ratios:

  • ICU: 1 nurse to 2 patients
  • IMC: 1 nurse to 3-4 patients
• Float Requirements: Float between ICU main, ICU Overflow, and IMC (stepdown unit)
• Common Diagnoses/Treatments:

  • CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Graft)
  • TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement)
  • STEMI, NSTEMI (types of heart attacks)
  • Stroke, Trauma
  • Cardiovascular, Neuro, Medical-Surgical ICU/IMC cases
• Equipment: Baxter Infusion Pumps, GE Monitoring Systems
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Medhost
• Dress Code: Black scrubs

Additional Notes

• No block schedule requests; 48-hour shifts may be considered but not guaranteed
• Orientation is conducted weekly
• Must indicate shift preference flexibility (day, night, or both)
• Located in an area with outdoor recreation and scenic mountain and lake views
• Close proximity to major cities and attractions (Las Vegas, Phoenix, Grand Canyon)

Summary of Requirements

• Current RN license in the state of Arizona
• Minimum 2 years recent acute care experience, preferably ICU/critical care
• ACLS certification required; BLS and NIH certification also required
• Ability to float between ICU and IMC units
• Comfortable working rotating weekends and 12-hour shifts

This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs seeking a travel assignment in a scenic location with a Level 3 trauma center and a diverse adult/geriatric patient population.
