Registered Nurse (PCU) - Travel Assignment

Job Description

• Care for medically delicate and surgically complex patients in a Progressive Critical Care Unit (PCU).
• Patient conditions include respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications.
• Must be competent in care of both medical and surgical populations.
• Required skills include ACLS certification and advanced hemodynamic monitoring, including pressor usage per titration protocols.
• Experience with antihypertensive drips, sedative and narcan drips, thrombo-embolytics, arterial lines, central venous pressure (CVP) monitoring, external ventricular drains (EVD), orthopedic traction, infection prevention protocols, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), BiPAP/CPAP, and oxygen-dependent patients.
• Average patient load is 3 high acuity patients.
• Nurses with large scale adult PCU experience and community hospital ICU experience tend to perform well.
• Navy blue scrubs are required.
• Epic electronic medical record (EMR) experience is required.
• Competency test required within 24 hours of submission.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU), with at least some experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Experience with Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks
