Job Opportunity: Emergency Department RN (Travel)

Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work in a 54-bed Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center Emergency Department.
• ED treats over 60,000 patients annually.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio ranges from 1:1 (critical/trauma) to 1:3-4 (other patients).
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals.
• Schedule includes holidays as required and every other weekend.
• Accepts 36 or 48 hours per week (guaranteed 36 hours).
• Clinical, patient-facing role.
• EMR system: Meditech.
• Dress code: Solid navy scrubs.
• Parking available.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Licensure: Registered Nurse license in the State of Alabama or Compact license (no temporary licenses accepted).
• Certifications:

  • AHA ACLS
  • AHA BLS
  • AHA PALS
  • NIH or Red Cross certification
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • SECURE on-site certification
• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years nursing experience preferred; will consider 18 months under highest professional license.
  • Must have 1 year of recent experience specifically in Emergency Department nursing.

Additional Information

• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals.
• This is a clinical, patient-facing position.
• Timesheet approver roles assigned but not relevant for candidate.
