Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health

Job Summary

As a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. You will develop nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff, communicate changes in patient conditions to appropriate team members, and participate in discharge planning.

Work Schedule & Environment

• Shift: Days, 7 AM – 7 PM
• No block schedule
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• No call requirements
• Float requirements: Yes
• Patient population includes geriatric, adult, and pediatric (ages 5-17) patients
• Patient ratios approximately 1:8, with lower ratios for geriatric and pediatric units
• Units include 5 behavioral health units with a total of 104 beds

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
• Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS certification required
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience in an inpatient psychiatric/behavioral health setting
• Experience floating to other units

Preferred Experience & Skills

• Behavioral health nursing experience preferred
• Familiarity with common diagnoses such as schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, and anxiety
• Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams

• Dress code: Blue scrubs

• Supervision by shift supervisors only
