Registered Nurse - Telemetry (Travel Assignment)

Location: Corpus Christi, Texas

Job Details

• Employment Type: Travel
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Unit: Heart Telemetry
• Number of Beds: 25
• Staffing: 40+ staff members
• Patient Ratios: Typically 6:1, sometimes 5:1
• Shift Coverage:

  • Day Shift: 1 free charge nurse, 1 unit coordinator, 2 patient care technicians, 5 RNs
  • Night Shift: 5 RNs, 1 patient care technician
• Equipment Used: Baxter IV Pumps, KCI wound vacs, SCD pumps
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
• Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Telemetry nursing experience of at least 1 year, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience with Meditech EMR system
• Prior telemetry experience
• Ability to manage:

  • Chest tubes
  • Non-titrated Cardizem and Amiodarone drips
  • Weight-based heparin drips
