Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – General Surgical Unit (MS/Tele General Surgery)

• Unit Description:

  • 32-bed General Surgical Unit specializing in postoperative care
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
  • Focus on pain management, mobility, bedside procedures, and individualized patient care
  • Collaboration with family practice physicians, hospitalists, and surgeons
• Work Schedule:

  • 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holidays as required
• Floating: Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals

Requirements

• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing
• Licenses:

  • Registered Nurse license in Alabama or compact license (No temporary licenses accepted)
  • NURSYS verification required
• Certifications: AHA BLS or Red Cross certification
• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years nursing experience overall
  • At least 1 year experience in the specialty (General Surgical Unit)
  • Will consider 18 months of experience working under the highest level of professional license
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
