Progressive Care Unit RN

Overview

• Travel RN position in Independence, Missouri
• 48 hours per week
• 13-week contract

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• BLS
• ACLS
• Management of vasoactive drips

Unit Details

• Progressive Care Unit
• 36 beds
• Typical patient ratio: 1:3 on AM shift; 1:4 on AM or PM shift; 1:5 on PM shift with patient care techs
• Floating may include the Telemetry Unit
• Uses Meditech for documentation

Clinical Expectations

• Manage vasoactive drips
• Perform bedside shift report, hourly rounding, and daily leadership rounds
• Work with central lines/PICC lines and chest tubes

Scheduling

• Every 3rd weekend rotation
• Rotating holiday schedule
• Floating occurs on a rotation for FT/PT staff

Work Environment

• Positive attitude and teamwork are emphasized
• Required uniform: charcoal grey scrub tops with charcoal grey or black scrub bottoms, plus black or charcoal grey jackets
