Employment Details

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours Per Week: 48 hours (Overtime after 48 hours worked)
• Shift Requirements: 12-hour variable day/pm/night shifts
• Weekend/Holiday Requirements: Every other weekend and every other holiday

Unit Information

• Unit: MAP Unit – Medical and Pediatrics (Note: Travelers do not take pediatric patients)
• Typical Patient Ratios:

  • Days: 1:4-5
  • Nights: 1:6-7
• Common Conditions Treated:

  • Respiratory illnesses
  • Stroke and other neurological conditions
  • Gastrointestinal illness
  • Diabetic management
  • Renal failure
  • Urinary tract disorders
  • Sepsis
  • Wound care
  • Clotting disorders
  • Infectious disease processes
  • Acute alcohol withdrawal

Requirements

• Required Certifications:

  • Wisconsin RN License
  • BLS
• Minimum Experience: 2 years (Trauma level II experience highly preferred)
• Charting Experience: EPIC required

• Radius Rule: Contractors must be outside a 50-mile radius of Aspirus Wausau
• Scrub Colors: Any color scrubs

Note: GSA hours are not guaranteed during the week of Orientation. Travelers are guaranteed set hours per week, except during holidays when the unit is closed.
