Job Summary
The CT Technologist utilizes imaging, computer, and other equipment to produce and retain high-quality diagnostic images that meet or exceed department, organizational, and industry standards. This role requires thorough knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and image quality. Responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, educating and responding to patient questions or concerns, and ensuring age-appropriate communication and safety. The technologist also oversees and trains students providing patient care and services.
Job Responsibilities
- Verify ordered exams and appropriateness using assessment data and growth/development principles.
- Administer contrast as directed.
- Position patients and equipment to achieve optimal images.
- Use imaging and computer equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Collaborate with physicians to evaluate images and determine if additional images are needed.
- Apply radiation safety techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
- Prepare patients professionally, educate them, and address questions or concerns.
- Ensure age-appropriate communication, safety, patient education, and principles of physical/functional growth and development.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in Kentucky
- Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- ARRT certification
- BLS certification
