Registered Nurse - Operating Room (CVOR)

Job Summary

• Provide patient- and family-centered care aimed at achieving individualized, holistic goals.
• Develop, implement, and adapt comprehensive, age- and culturally appropriate nursing care plans.
• Use the nursing process to safely and therapeutically care for patients.
• Evaluate patient and family progress and revise care plans as needed.
• Identify and address patient/family educational needs using adult-learning theory.
• Serve as a patient advocate and promote patient/family participation in decision-making.
• Communicate and coordinate care with interdisciplinary healthcare team members.
• Delegate care tasks within scope and competency of team members.
• Participate in patient care conferences and document patient responses and care activities.
• Analyze socio-cultural factors to tailor nursing interventions and establish therapeutic relationships.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Minimum 2 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience, including CVOR experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Ability to perform socio-cultural analysis to inform nursing care

Additional Information

• On-call requirement: 12 hours overnight Friday and 12 hours Saturday (day or night), every 4 weeks, with a 30-minute response time.
• Variable start times between 0615 and 1100.
• Documentation skills required: IPOC (Individualized Plan of Care), IPER (Individualized Patient Education Record).
• Skills in nursing process, patient care planning, patient education, therapeutic communication, patient advocacy, interdisciplinary coordination, delegation, and compliance adherence are essential.
