Job Summary

• Perform mammograms and bone density scans daily following Radiation Practice Standards, ACR, MQSA, and departmental policies.
• Assist Radiologist with needle localization, stereotactic biopsy, and galactogram after completing training and competency demonstration.
• Obtain and review patient medical history and physician orders before procedures; explain procedures to patients and complete documentation.
• Select appropriate technical factors and operate equipment in compliance with Radiation Safety Practices.
• Prepare completed mammograms and studies for interpretation, ensuring proper identification and documentation.
• Perform or assist with Quality Assurance activities related to mammography and bone density, including use of specific equipment (e.g., Hologic Selenia, AGFA Printer).
• Report changes in patient condition to Lead Technologist or Radiologist and assist with emergency medical treatment under physician direction.
• Assist with scheduling patient exams.
• Participate in department meetings and in-services.
• Collaborate with Lead Mammography Technologist to meet MQSA standards.

Required Qualifications

• Licensed Mammography Technologist.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a licensed mammography technologist preferred.
• Epic system experience required: 6 to 12 months within the past year.

Additional Information

• Works under supervision of Mammo Supervisor and Manager.
• Performs duties according to Radiation Practice Standards, ACR, MQSA, and The Joint Commission.
