Job Description
- Specialty: Registered Nurse – Cath Lab
- Required Experience: 2 years in specialty
- Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – Must be AHA certified
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Must be AHA certified
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required based on specialty, must be AHA certified
- Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required
Background Checks & Verifications
- Standard background check (7-year search of locations lived/worked/school)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check
- HHS/OIG check
- Transcript, diploma, or education verification required
- Primary source online verification of state license
Competencies & Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for all RNs)
- Competency Exam as applicable by profession (must meet or exceed passing score)

- Assault Response Competency (ARC) training within 30 days of start (live 4-hour training)

Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam clearance within the past year
- Fit mask test (3M Aura 9205+ or 3M1860s)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (2-step PPD, QGold, or T-SPOT)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
- Hepatitis B series or positive titer
- Varicella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
- 9-panel drug screen within 1 year
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (September - March)
- Color vision exam (Ishihara test) required for certain departments including Cardiac Cath
- COVID vaccination plus booster
Additional Notes
- Fire Card issued by an LAFD-approved instructor must be obtained within 30 days after start date
- Employment application and annual skills checklist required
