Job Details

• Unit: PCU/Medical Intermediate (MS/Tele)
• Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts (18:45 - 07:15)
• Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in Medical-Surgical/Intermediate Care (MSI)
• First-time Travelers: Accepted
• Weekend Requirement: 8 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period (Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
• On-call: Not required
• Floating: Regular floating between departments, units, and facilities may be required
• Holiday Shifts & Charge RN Assignments: As needed
• Local Candidates: Not accepted (must live at least 75 miles from facility)
• Pending License: Not accepted
• RTO Restrictions: No more than 7 days off
• Guaranteed Hours: Minimum 3 shifts per 13 weeks
• Special Patient Care: Post-cardiac catheterization patients

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry experience, including on-unit telemetry monitoring within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification

Schedule & Work Environment

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, night shift
• Floating between units as needed
• Weekend and holiday shifts required
• No block scheduling accommodation

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued ID required
• Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches
• Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Education verification of highest nursing degree
• Professional license primary source verification (NURSYS for Missouri)
• Unit-specific competency exams, including Dysrhythmia/EKG competency (80% pass rate required)
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam
• Color blindness test within 12 months
• Skills checklist within 1 year, including oncology skills if applicable
• Physical exam within 1 year
• Fit mask testing (N95) annually
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tdap vaccine or declination (every 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination
• Drug testing within 1 year, including a full panel (amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cocaine, opiates, etc.)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
• Required facility-specific documents including HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, latex allergy questionnaire, hand hygiene, fingernail, and dress code policies
• Completion of BJC orientation modules via WorkRamp (approximately 16 hours) unless completed in current calendar year
• References: Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)

• Floating may include different departments and facilities within the system
• No pending licenses accepted; must have active RN license before start
• No local candidates accepted; must reside at least 75 miles away
• First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply
• Weekend and holiday shifts are mandatory as per schedule
• Post-cardiac cath patient care experience preferred
