Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Covina, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Day Shift: 07:00 AM – 07:30 PM
• 3 shifts per week
• Every other weekend

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA only, required for all clinical candidates
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA only, required for specific units (ERICU, CCU, MS/Tele, PACU, OR, L&D, DOU)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): AHA only, required for specific units (ER, PACU, PICU, CVPICU, Pediatrics)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required for NICU, L&D (Advanced Provider level)
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Required for L&D, must be updated every 3 years; Advanced Fetal Update required after 2 years L&D experience
• State License Verification: California primary source verification
• IV Certification: Required for LVN
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB): Required for all CNAs and RNs in ER, Psych, or Behavioral Health; must be in-person or hybrid course (no online)
• NIH Stroke Certification: Required for all RNs (except CNAs and LVNs), must be updated annually
• Assault Response Certification (ARC): Required for Behavioral Health, must be completed prior to start

Required Competencies

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (passing score 85%) for all RNs and LPNs
• Color Blind Testing
• Competency Exam (passing score 85%)
• Age Specific Competency Exam (annual update required)
• Core Part I, II, III (annual update required)

Required Documentation & Health Requirements

• I9 Documentation
• Photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background Check: 7-year criminal search, nationwide, sex offender, within 30 days of start
• Physical Exam: Within 30 days of start, must be clear to work without restrictions (latex allergies acceptable)
• Immunizations and Titers:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within last 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (Qgold, Tspot, or 2-step PPD within 30 days of start)
  • Rubeola (Measles) titer or 2 vaccines (with booster requirements if low titer)
  • Mumps titer or 2 vaccines (with booster requirements if low titer)
  • Rubella titer or 2 vaccines (with booster requirements if low titer)
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer >10 mIU/mL or agency declination form (vaccine record not acceptable)
  • Varicella titer or 2 vaccines
• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel within 30 days of start (instant accepted); excludes marijuana and related substances
• Seasonal Vaccinations:

  • Flu vaccine or declination required annually (deadline Oct 31)
  • COVID vaccine or declination required annually (deadline Oct 31)
  • Masking required in patient care areas if unvaccinated for flu and COVID during season

• Facility-specific documents including signed job description and confidentiality acknowledgement
• California Medi-Cal Search Result: Must be run every 30 days until contract completion
