Job Details

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Shift: PM shift (weekend flexibility required)
  • Experience Required: Minimum 3 years
  • First-time Travelers: Accepted
  • Weekend Requirement: Depends on contract length
  • On-call: Not required
  • Floating: Required to float between like units, specifically to mother-baby unit
  • Block Schedule: May be accommodated at manager's discretion
  • Local Radius: 50 miles
  • Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period
  • Scrub Color: Any color allowed
  • May Float To: Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center San Pedro

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • AWHONN Advanced
  • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
  • FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Licensure

  • Pending licenses not accepted
  • Must have current valid license
  • NURSYS verification required for all RNs

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Background Checks

  • Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • Includes SSN Trace, Death Master Index, Counties, Nationwide, National Sex Offender, FACIS Level 3, Education Verification, MVR (if Home Health), and International Background Search if applicable
  • Returning candidates with less than 30-day gap may not require new background check
  • Oregon Abuse/Neglect Search required only for specific facilities
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated monthly

Health Documents

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Fit Mask test (N95 or equivalent) required for travel starts after 2/5/2024, updated annually
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination accepted
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer required
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination required
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer required
  • 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
  • Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season or declination accepted
  • COVID-19 vaccine or declination required if onsite

Competency & Skills

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
  • Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
  • Color Blind Testing if required by unit or manager
  • Competency exams as required by specialty
  • EFM training or certification required for Labor & Delivery RNs

References & Employment History

  • Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in last 3 years (6 months for CNAs) from supervisors
  • Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors) with month/year format
  • Clarification required for any employment gaps or overlaps

Floating Policy

  • Acknowledgement required; may float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance

Training & Modules

  • Completion of Providence-specific WorkRamp modules required prior to start, including:
    • Core Modules by profession (RN/LVN, CNA, Allied, etc.)
    • Specialty-specific modules depending on unit (ER, ICU, L&D, OR, etc.)
    • Regional Core and Specialty modules for CA and OR candidates
    • Annual regulatory modules required for all caregivers
  • Epic training modules required for all candidates prior to moving to Paid Day Work status
  • Modules assigned and tracked via Aya's LMS platform, WorkRamp

Additional Notes

  • Locals accepted
  • RTO (Return to Office) restrictions must be included at time of submission
  • Photo for badge required (passport style with neutral background)
  • Facility provides free parking
  • Scrub color is flexible

This position is ideal for experienced RNs who are flexible with weekends and floating, have required certifications, and are ready to work in a busy acute care hospital setting using Epic charting. The contract is approximately 13 weeks with potential for block scheduling.
