Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (IMC) - Travel/Contract

Location: Hagerstown, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Position in Med/Surg Telemetry and Intermediate Care (IMC) Float Pool
• Float between Med/Surg units and IMC units
• Patient ratios: 1:4 to 1:6
• Care for patients with acute respiratory distress, septic shock, hypertensive crisis, severe congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, unstable angina, and trauma

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
• Minimum 2 years of Intermediate Care experience, including experience within the last year
• Telemetry experience
• Med/Surg experience
• Experience working with Level 1 and Level 2 Trauma patients
• One completed travel nursing assignment
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system

Required Certifications & Licenses

• NIH Stroke Certification (AHA or APEX; must obtain within first week if not already held)

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Flu vaccination required (no declinations accepted)
• 2-step PPD or negative TB test within 1 year (with proper timing between tests)
• Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Proof of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Hepatitis B (titers or vaccines)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Fit mask test within 1 year (annual update required)

Additional Requirements

• Proof of 2 clinical references
• Background check including 7-year criminal history and various federal/state checks
• Verification of nursing license through NURSYS
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement

Notes

• Candidates must be comfortable with floating between units and managing varied patient acuity
• Candidates without EPIC or IMC experience will not be considered
• Local candidates within 50 miles are eligible for a different pay rate (not included here)

This position is ideal for experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RNs with strong IMC skills and prior travel contract experience looking for a 13-week travel assignment in Maryland.
