Job Opportunity: MS/Tele Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele - Medical-Surgical/Telemetry)
• Shift: Nights
• Ratios: 1:5-6
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float Requirement: Yes, must float within scope to meet facility needs or between like units
• Block Scheduling: Open to accommodating
• Locals: Not accepted (50-mile radius rule from main campus)
• Pending License: Not accepted
• On-call: No
• First-time travelers accepted

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in MS/Tele specialty

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NIH Stroke Certification (updated annually)

Required Competencies

• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (annual renewal required)
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) with remediation policy

Special Requirements & Policies

• Return Staff Policy: Must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
• Contract Limit: Maximum of 2 contracts (can extend once), then must be gone for 6 months before returning
• Guaranteed Hours: Call-off policy allows 2 shifts off per 13-week assignment; after that, all contracted shifts are guaranteed

Background & Health Requirements

• Background Check: Required within 6 months of start; includes SSN trace, 7-year county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search, and international search if applicable
• Physical Exam: Required within 1 year, updated annually
• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days (specific substances listed)
• Immunizations & Titers:

  • TDAP (within last 10 years, no declinations accepted)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines required, no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination accepted)
• TB Screening: Negative PPD, Q Gold, or Tspot within 1 year; chest X-ray if positive PPD (not within 5 years)
• Flu Vaccine: Required year-round; exemptions allowed only with approved medical or religious documentation (facility-specific form required)
• COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required but accepted if available
