Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)

Specialty & Unit Details

• Specialty: Mixed Acuity (Medical Surgical/Telemetry & Stepdown)
• Unit: 48-bed unit specializing in Neurology and Neurosurgery
• Patient population includes strokes, aneurysms, seizures, spinal fusions, brain and spinal cord tumors, and other neurological conditions
• Care for up to five Med Surg patients per RN
• MS/Tele Ratios: 1:5 (days), 1:6 (nights), occasionally 1:7 nights
• Stepdown Ratios: 1:3-4 (days and nights)
• Drips required on all floors
• EPIC charting experience required
• Floating within scope to meet facility needs, including potential float to Bellevue campus
• Units may include 4CS, 5 West, 6 Neuro, 4/5 Lied, 6/7 Lied, 7 HVU, 8 Werner, 9 Trauma, Bellevue MS, Observation, SOTU
• Care teams include CNAs, care techs, transport team, swoop/paramedics; LPNs assigned on some floors

Experience & Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of prior nursing experience required
• Must have 2 years experience in a large, urban hospital
• First-time travelers NOT accepted unless they have 2 years experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center
• Prior travel experience is NOT explicitly required
• Must be more than 100 miles from facility (no locals accepted)
• Pending license accepted but must be in hand at time of submission or booking will be delayed by six weeks

Work Schedule & Other Details

• Shift options: 36 or 48 hours
• Weekend shifts: 4 out of 8 possible in a 4-week period (Days: Sat & Sun; Nights: Fri & Sat night)
• RTO (Request Time Off): Up to 2 weeks permitted, must be submitted with application; additional requests at manager discretion
• Holiday requirement: Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• 100% nicotine-free facility
• Scrubs: Mandatory Steele gray scrubs with facility logo (provided after confirmation)
• Parking: Permit available (~$55/month) or daily parking rates

Certifications & Compliance

• ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP as applicable per unit (AHA required)
• State license verification and primary source verification required prior to start
• Background check within 30 days of start, including federal enhanced search
• Drug screen within 60 days of start, updated annually
• Education verification required
• Various health documents required including:

  • Physical exam (within 1 year, updated annually)
  • Fit mask test (annual)
  • Tdap vaccine within last 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray documentation
  • MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella vaccination or titers
  • Flu vaccine documentation preferred (mandatory for new contracts starting 10/1)
  • COVID vaccine preferred; exemptions accepted
• Annual skills checklist required
• References: 2 work references from past 2 years required
