Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse for a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. This is a travel/contract position requiring compliance with specific credentialing, certifications, and health requirements.

Required Experience

Immunizations/vaccinations required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters if titers negative/equivocal.
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or declination.
- Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer; booster if needed.
- Seasonal Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season.
Drug screening: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually.

Background and Compliance Checks

Government-issued photo ID required.
Background check including FCRA compliant 7-year search, education verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks.
FBI and BCI fingerprinting within 12 months, updated annually.
Education verification required for all candidates.
References: 2 references from employment within 1 year, from a manager or supervisor (no co-worker references).
Employment application must include 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care.

Competency and Orientation

Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start and updated annually.
Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome).
Pass/Fail EKG and medication testing during orientation (retake available if needed).
SafeMedicate preparation materials provided for review before orientation.

Additional Notes

Candidates must carry government-issued photo ID while on assignment.
Fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing; candidates may start with results pending but must complete prior to extension.
Physical exam must confirm ability to safely perform essential job functions.
Facility accommodates latex allergies with notification.
Candidates with gaps in employment longer than 40 days may need updated physical, chest X-ray, and eye exam.
Religious and medical exemptions for vaccines are reviewed on a case-by-case basis; declinations are not accepted.
Flu vaccine or exemption required during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31).
