Job Opportunity: Telemetry Registered Nurse
Location: Tyler, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- 36 beds, patient ratio 1:6
- Float required to units of equal or lesser acuity
- Patient population ranges from young adult to geriatric
- Focus on cardiac care patients including post-cardiac surgery, coronary artery stent placement, pacemaker implant, and stable non-procedural cardiac patients
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- EPIC experience required
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
- Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Required Certifications
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - required as applicable
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - required as applicable
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy) - required as applicable
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - required as applicable
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) - required as applicable
- NIH Stroke Certification - required as applicable
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - required as applicable
License Requirements
- Primary source online verification required (e.g., NURSYS)
Health and Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
- Adult TDAP vaccine within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Required immunizations or positive titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)
Additional Requirements
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Employment application and resume required
- Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
- 7-year work history verification required
- Clear headshot photo for badge
- Driver’s license or state ID required

This position is ideal for experienced Telemetry RNs with prior travel contract experience who are comfortable working in a cardiac-focused telemetry unit and meet the comprehensive certification and health requirements.
