Job Description

• On-call availability required; placed on low census/on-call status
• Weekend work required
• Meal breaks: 30 minutes

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Experience

• Specialty: Registered Nurse – PCU

Certifications & Licenses

• Drug screening (10-panel) within 30 days of start
• Fit mask test within 12 months of start, updated annually (3M Aura 1870+ required)
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B vaccine series or declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccination or declination

Additional Requirements

• Completion of competency exam prior to or within 30 days of start
• Completion of facility-specific training modules and policy acknowledgements prior to start
• Illinois Healthcare Worker Registry fingerprinting and eligibility verification required prior to assignment start (must be completed in Illinois)
• Sexual harassment training required annually
• Confidentiality, privacy, and information security agreements must be signed prior to start
• Drug screen positive for THC requires signed attestation and additional documentation

Work Environment & Other Details

• Position requires weekend availability and on-call status
• Candidate must maintain all required documentation and certifications current throughout assignment
• Must comply with all facility-specific policies and procedures

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with PCU experience who holds a BSN and current Illinois RN license, is ACLS and BLS certified, and is comfortable with on-call and weekend work in a travel/contract role.
