Job Description

• Position: Inpatient Case Management Social Worker
• Shift: 5 days a week, 8-hour day shifts
• Start Date: ASAP
• Weekend work required
• No on-call duties
• Floating within scope to meet facility needs may be required
• Block scheduling not accommodated
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility (no locals accepted)
• Pending Alaska license accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) license in Alaska
• Minimum of 1 year of LMSW experience within the last year

Facility Type

• Acute Hospital
• Magnet Facility, Level II Trauma Center

Certifications (as applicable)

• Alaska LMSW or LCSW License
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (verify per unit requirements)
• Other certifications may be required based on unit or specialty (verify with clinical guidelines)

Additional Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • TB test or chest X-ray (annual update required)
  • Flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
  • COVID vaccine or declination
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination (Alaska placements require positive titer and vaccine series)
• 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
• Respirator clearance (RespSafety) required annually for travel candidates
• Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
• Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/subcontractors)

• Charting system: Epic
• Scrub color provided
• Free parking available
• Guaranteed 72 hours per 2 weeks; traveler may be called off for one 8-hour shift every 2 weeks

• Candidates must be prepared to float within their scope of practice to meet facility needs
• Prior travel experience is not required for this position
• Pending licenses are accepted, but must be for Alaska LMSW or LCSW
• Locals (within 50 miles) are not eligible for this travel contract
• Compliance with all health, background, and credentialing requirements is mandatory prior to start
