Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - ED/Med Surg

Location: Hillsboro, Kansas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night shift, 6:45 PM to 7:00 AM
Contract Length: Approximately 13 weeks (negotiable between 8 to 13 weeks)

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in both the Emergency Department and Medical-Surgical units.
• Must be able to manage patient load on the floor as well as handle ER patients.
• Experience in both ED and Med Surg units is required.
• Open to nurses with 1 year of experience.
• First-time travelers are welcome.
• Blocked scheduling (grouped shifts) may be accommodated.

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred but not required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas.
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year.
• Experience in Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) nursing.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Unexpired government-issued photo ID.
• Background checks including SS trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender registry, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG.
• Verification of certifications and licenses prior to start.
• Signed acknowledgments for safety manual, confidentiality, HIPAA policies, and computer use.
• Physical exam within the last 12 months.
• N95 Fit Test within 1 year.
• Immunizations and/or titers for Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable.
• Drug screening within the last 12 months.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination.
• COVID vaccination, declination, or exemption (boosters not required).
• Two professional references within the last 3 years.
• Skills checklist completion.

Additional Notes

• The facility requires nurses to be flexible and competent in both ED and Med Surg settings.
• Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
• The employer is willing to accommodate scheduling preferences where possible.
