Job Opportunity: Electrophysiology Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Fredericksburg, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (4x10 hours)
- Options: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM
Hours per Week: 40 hours
Job Description
- Work in Electrophysiology (EP) Lab with daily caseload of 4-10 cases.
- Must be able to scrub during procedures.
- Procedures include: ablations, pacemaker/defibrillator device placements, rhythm interpretation, Watchman procedure, arrhythmia induction, baseline measurements, cardioversion, insertion/programming of AICDs, left atrial appendage closure, and pacemaker insertion.
- Equipment experience preferred: Carto, St. Jude, Spectranetics laser.
- Documentation systems preferred: Epic and Claris.
- First-time travelers accepted.
- No weekend or on-call requirements.
- No floating outside scope of practice.
- Block scheduling accommodations at manager’s discretion.
- Locals accepted.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Virginia
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Catheterization Lab experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Ability to scrub and circulate during procedures
- Experience with ablations, pacemaker/defibrillator device placements, rhythm interpretation, and Watchman procedure skills
- Proficient in arrhythmia induction, baseline measurements, cardioversion, and insertion/programming of AICDs
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Valid driver’s license (front and back copy) required.
- Background check including lifetime criminal and education verification within 1 year prior to start.
- Drug screening within 30 days prior to start.
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start.
- Fit mask (N95) certification required and must be updated annually.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable.
- Immunization or immunity documentation for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B.
- Flu vaccination required during flu season (9/1 - 3/31) or approved medical/religious exemption.
- COVID vaccination documentation required or declination on file.
- Two professional references required: one from current year and one within last two years, from a supervisor or equivalent.
- Employment application and work history verification (2 years) required.
- Skills checklist and competency exams required for clinical candidates.
- Completion of facility-specific orientation, confidentiality, code of conduct, and Epic experience screening forms prior to start.
- Completion of mandatory WorkRamp modules and exams prior to start (approx. 8 hours).
