Registered Nurse – Home Health (PACE/Palliative Care)

Location: Naples, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Overview

  • Provide comprehensive, long-term care to frail seniors enrolled in PACE (Program for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) with a focus on palliative and end-of-life care.
  • Patient load averages 5-7 patients per day.
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours/week).
  • Work territory may extend up to a 60-mile radius from the office; flexibility with travel within this area is expected.
  • Documentation and communication must be timely and accurate.
  • Dress code: Scrubs of any color; jeans are not permitted.
  • iPad provided for work; cell phone use is not allowed during shifts.
  • Mileage reimbursement provided at IRS standard rate.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience.
  • Current, valid RN license for Florida.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Ability to care for geriatric patients, including those receiving hospice-level, comfort-focused care.
  • First-time travel nurses are accepted.

Certifications & Training

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required.
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications as applicable.
  • Completion of a 1-hour Alzheimer’s training specific to PACE facilities is mandatory.

Compliance & Background Requirements

  • Must complete a 7-year background check within 30 days of start, updated annually.
  • Required federal and state background screenings including EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
  • Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start; Livescan electronic fingerprinting must be completed if no prior clearance exists.
  • Physical exam within 6 months prior to start confirming freedom from communicable diseases.
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframes.
  • Fit test for N95 mask within 1 year of start.
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start.
  • Required immunizations or positive titers with boosters as needed: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination required annually; if declining flu vaccine, mask wearing is mandatory.
  • COVID-19 vaccination or documented declination required.

Additional Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Completion of facility-required forms and agreements prior to start, including:
    • Contractor Info and Consent Forms
    • Conflict of Interest
    • Immunization Statement
    • Confidentiality and Security Agreement
    • TB Symptom Survey
    • Sexual Abuse Policy
    • Code of Conduct
  • Passport-style photo for badge issuance required.
  • Annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable to specialty.

Notes

  • On-call duties are not required.
  • Locals are eligible to apply and will be compensated at travel rates.
  • Productivity expectations must be met to maintain guaranteed hours.
