Job Opportunity: Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel/Contract

Location: Warrensville Heights, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Night shifts, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each

Job Description

• Position: Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)
• Work schedule: Night shifts, 3 shifts of 12 hours each per week
• Must work at least every other holiday
• ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate medication administration exam required during orientation (passing scores required)

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio (permanent or compact state license)
• Minimum of 1.5 years recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Required Certifications

• Passing scores on facility competency exams:

  • SafeMedicate medication administration exam (90% passing score)
  • ECG rhythm recognition exam (80% passing score)

Required Qualifications & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) required
• Background checks including:

  • FCRA compliant 7-year search
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM monthly checks
  • HHS/OIG monthly checks
  • FBI and BCI fingerprinting (must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing and updated annually)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date confirming ability to perform essential job functions
• Fit mask test (3M N95) within 12 months, updated annually
• Immunizations and health requirements:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 12 months)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or titer or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination (required annually, no declinations accepted)
• Drug screening: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually
• References: 2 professional references from within 1 year of start date (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director)
• Employment application with at least 3 years prior work history including 2 years clinical acute care experience in a similar area

Orientation & Training

• Completion of online onboarding modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)
• Facility-specific orientation including competency exams and assessments
• SafeMedicate and ECG rhythm recognition tests during orientation

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
• Must be able to work night shifts and holidays as scheduled
• PBDS Assessment waived for this role
