Job Description

• Position: CVOR Tech (Cardiovascular Operating Room Technician)
• Shift: Days
• Call required
• Float required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Surgical Services
• NBSTSA certification not required but preferred

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a CVOR Technologist within the last year
• Valid state license or certification relevant to Surgical Services Tech role
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required as applicable
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required as applicable
• Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (NRP) required as applicable
• Chemotherapy certification required as applicable
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required as applicable
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) required as applicable
• NIH Stroke Certification required as applicable
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required as applicable
• National Tech Certification verification as applicable
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required as applicable
• Color Blind Testing required
• Competency Exams with minimum passing score of 80% or higher as applicable
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
• Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Surgical Services specialty
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Additional Requirements

• Call and float responsibilities
• Background checks including 7-year history, education verification, fingerprinting (on-site for New Mexico placements)
• Valid driver’s license or state ID
• Completion of unit-specific skills checklist annually
• Work history verification for the past 7 years
• Clear headshot photo for badge
• Completion of employment application/resume

Notes

• Fingerprinting must be completed onsite during orientation for New Mexico contracts
• Orientation and training may proceed pending fingerprint clearance, but work cannot begin until clearance is received
• Some certifications and competencies may be required depending on specific assignment needs
