Travel/Contract Registered Nurse (CVICU)
Location: Augusta, Georgia

Job Description
- Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
- Unit: Cardiovascular ICU (CV3 ICU), 10 beds, average daily census of 7
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:1 to 1:2
- Typical patient conditions include LVADs, balloon pumps, Swan catheters, temporary pacemakers, femoral and venous sheaths, arterial lines, TR bands, and patients on CRRT
- Nurses typically carry 2 patients
- Multidisciplinary rounds with intensivist present Monday-Friday
- Responsibilities include titrating cardiac drips, vasoactive medications, and sedation for intubated patients
- Close monitoring required for post-AAA repair patients who must remain flat for specific hours
- Effective communication with physicians and care team is critical
- Unit Systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
- Floating: Yes, within facility and scope of practice as needed
- Call Requirements: None
- Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
- Holiday Work: Required to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days; blackout dates during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) experience, with CVICU experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Current ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Experience working with adult and geriatric patient populations
Additional Information
- Orientation hours depend on contract length (e.g., 12 weeks = 12 hours orientation)
- Full compliance with all documentation and credentialing required to start on time; delays may result in assignment pushback
- Locals accepted at same rate
- Floating within facility as needed
Prior Travel Experience
- Not explicitly required; 1st time travelers accepted
