Job Opportunity: Outpatient Clinic Hematology Oncology Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location

  • New Orleans, Louisiana

Employment Type

  • Travel/Contract

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Shift Details

  • Day shift, 5 days per week (Monday to Friday)
  • Hours: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (8 hours per day)
  • No weekend, call, or float requirements

Patient Ratio

  • 1 nurse to 7 patients

Required Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of Registered Nurse experience
  • Prior travel experience required (No first-time travelers accepted)

Required Skills and Certifications

  • Epic electronic health record system experience required
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ONS/ONCC (Oncology Nursing Society certification)
  • Preferred Certification:
    • OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)

Appearance

  • Scrubs color: Navy blue

Time Off Policy

  • Strict 5-day maximum return to office (RTO) policy

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Louisiana
  • Oncology nursing experience of at least 1 year, including experience within the last year
  • Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
  • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Certification from Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) or Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC)
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Additional Notes

  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification may be required depending on unit assignment; can be completed onsite within 30 days if not already certified
  • All required licenses and certifications must be verified within 30 days of start
  • Candidates must comply with employee appearance policy and facility-specific health and safety protocols
