Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Interventional Radiology

Location: San Francisco, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Job Description

  • Work schedule: 10-hour variable days
  • Primary specialty: Interventional Radiology (IR)
  • Competency in moderate sedation for IR and Neuro IR required
  • Ability to float to other facilities within the system

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Interventional Radiology, including experience within the last year
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • National Tech Certification Verification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in ICU, Emergency Department (ED), Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), or procedural areas
  • Radiology Imaging Nursing Certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Valid government photo ID matching professional license
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, Sex Offender Search, and Education Verification
  • Primary source verification of RN license within 30 days of start
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, including physician statement of fitness to work
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask types required; annual update needed)
  • Immunizations and titers: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years), Negative TB tests (2 required), Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Drug testing: Standard 9-panel (excluding THC) within 30 days of start, re-run every 2 years
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination required during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption required as per facility policy
  • Completion of facility-specific learning modules and competency exams prior to or shortly after start
  • Pass/fail Telemetry exam required on first day for applicable units
  • Unit-specific skills checklist and competency exams with passing scores (80% or higher) required annually
  • Two supervisory references required, preferably from the most recent employment
  • Resume with last 7 years of work history; gaps of 30 days or more must be explained

  • Candidates must complete various facility-specific documents including COVID-19 preparedness, HIPAA agreements, emergency contact information, and cybersecurity training
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) may be required depending on unit assignment
