Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PCU/Stepdown

Position Overview

Seeking a Registered Nurse for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Stepdown. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to patients requiring telemetry and intermediate care.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing, including experience within the last year
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Proficient with Epic electronic health record system

Additional Details

• First-time travel nurses are welcome.
• Local candidates within 75 miles are considered.
• Weekend shifts are required.

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid government-issued photo ID and Social Security documentation as needed.
• Background checks including SSN trace, county checks for past 7 years, sex offender registry, and others as required.
• Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen (including THC) within 30 days of start.
• Health requirements:

  • Physical exam within 12 months
  • Immunizations and titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Polio
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
  • Seasonal flu vaccination (declinations not accepted)
• References: Two professional references from employment within the last 12 months, including at least one supervisor.
• Employment application and skills checklist updated annually.
• Completion of required online modules and competency exams prior to or during orientation.
• Setup of a guest account for access to orientation and work systems prior to clearance.

Notes for Candidates

• Candidates must complete all required documentation and clearances before starting.
• Competency checklists must be completed within 3 weeks after start date.
• Training for crisis prevention and other unit-specific competencies will be provided during orientation.
• Candidates switching between facilities may need to reactivate guest accounts and re-verify credentials.
