Job Opportunity: Pediatric Echo Tech
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Specialty: Pediatric Echocardiography (Radiology / Cardiology)
- Typical daily caseload: 4-10 patients
- Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts with staggered start times between 6:30 AM and 8:00 AM
- No weekend, holiday, or on-call requirements
- Floating between hospital and clinic locations within the local area
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in pediatric echocardiography, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with pediatric patients
Licensure
- Must have a valid state license or pending state license accepted (South Carolina license preferred)
- Primary source verification of license required
Certifications & Competencies
- BLS (AHA or ARC)
- PALS (AHA)
- NRP (AHA/AAP)
- Competency exams as applicable
- Color blindness testing required prior to start
Health & Safety Requirements
- Fit test for N95 mask within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually
- Immunizations and titers required or proof of immunity for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days of start or proof of prior positive with chest x-ray follow-up
- Annual TB questionnaire completion required
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season
Additional Requirements
- Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
- Complete employment application/resume with all PTO, contract assignments, agency names, and no unaccounted gaps
- Passport-style photo for badge (frontal view, solid light background, business casual attire)
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start (approx. 2 hours)
- Emergency response team participation during hurricane season (June-November)
Work Environment & Miscellaneous
- Local radius for travel: 60 miles
- Locals may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks
- Floating between hospital and outpatient clinic locations
This position is ideal for pediatric echo techs with experience in complex congenital heart disease who are comfortable working in a pediatric hospital setting and flexible with floating between locations. First-time travel techs are welcome to apply.
