Registered Nurse (CCU) - Travel/Contract

Location: Joplin, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work in a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) setting requiring strong skills with tracheostomies, ventilators, and drips.
  • Patient ratios can be 1:5-6.
  • Weekend block day shifts available.
  • Schedule: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM).
  • Local candidates considered same as travel.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Missouri.
  • Minimum 2 years of Coronary Care Unit (CCU) experience, with at least 1 year of recent CCU experience.
  • Experience in a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) setting.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Proficient in tracheostomy care and ventilator management.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Unexpired government-issued photo ID.
  • Background check within 1 year, including SS trace, county searches (7 years), nationwide sex offender search, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Primary source verification of state license prior to start.
  • NURSYS verification prior to start.
  • Signed acknowledgment of orientation safety manual and facility policies.
  • Physical exam within the last 12 months.
  • Fit testing for N95 mask within the past year (updated annually).
  • Immunizations/vaccinations: Tdap, Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu seasonal vaccination or declination during flu season, COVID-19 vaccination or declination.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months prior to start (2nd PPD can be completed onsite if needed).
  • Drug screen within the last 12 months.
  • Completion of TB questionnaire within 6 months prior to start.
  • Two professional references within 3 years of hire.
  • Employment application and skills checklist required.
  • Missouri-specific electronic driver’s license search within 30 days prior to start.

Additional Notes

  • Orientation and onboarding packets must be reviewed and completed.
  • Dress code and key clinical staff policies must be reviewed.
  • Medical or religious immunization exemption forms available if applicable.

Shift Details

  • Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM).
  • Weekend block day shifts available.
