Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - ER

Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each)
• Every other weekend required
• No call required
• Floating as needed within scope

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification

Licensure

• Valid Registered Nurse license with primary source verification
• NURSYS verification required

Facility Requirements

• Locals not allowed; must be willing to travel
• Radius restriction: within 40 miles
• First-time travelers accepted
• Block scheduling may be discussed during interview

Background and Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried during hours of service
• Proof of E-Verify or attestation required
• 7-year criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated with each contract renewal
• Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands, updated annually
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Drug screening: 9-panel drug test within last 12 months (instant acceptable)
• Immunizations or titers required for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Seasonal flu vaccination required or approved exemption; mask required if declined during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)

Documentation and Evaluations

• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Complete employment application/resume
• Skills checklist updated annually for applicable unit
• Performance evaluations required if previously worked over 1 year with the agency
• Internal evaluations required if previously worked over 2 years with the agency

Additional Notes

• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement and competency exams required as applicable
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam required as applicable

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of experience seeking a travel contract in an ER night shift setting. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
