Location: Potsdam, New York

Job Details
- Specialty: GI/Endoscopy Registered Nurse
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Day shift, 5x8 hours)
- Hours per Week: 40 hours
- Call Requirements: Some weekend call and one night of call every 7-12 days
- Scrubs: Provided
- Travel Distance: Must live more than 50 miles from the facility (no locals accepted)
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of endoscopy experience, with recent endoscopy experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Harassment Prevention Training Certificate
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience with inpatient and outpatient endoscopy procedures and equipment, including but not limited to:
- Balloon dilators, bronchoscopy supplies, electrosurgical units, endoscopes (colonoscopes, EGD scopes, EBUS, EUS, flex sigmoidoscopes)
- Fluoroscopy equipment (C-arm, monitor, beds)
- Assisting with biopsies, procedure setup, instrument processing and cleaning
- High-Level Disinfection (HLD), infection control, universal protocol (time out) procedures
- Handling specimens (bronchoscopy, cytology, frozen sections, pathology)
- Esophageal foreign body removal and dilations (CRE balloon)
Required Certifications & Licenses
- RN License: Valid New York State Registered Nurse license (online verification required within 30 days of start)
- BLS: Basic Life Support certification (AHA provider/instructor/RQI accepted)
- ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred but not mandatory for this specialty
- Other certifications such as PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM are not required for this role
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- 7-year criminal background check including all aliases, national/state/county checks, social security address check, sex offender registry, education verification
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Education verification for nursing degree (official registrar verification required; transcripts/diplomas not accepted)
- NURSYS verification for RN license within 30 days of start
- Harassment prevention training certificate (New York state requirement, annual)
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam as required by profession
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for all candidates
- Color blindness testing (one-time)
- Competency exam as required by specialty within 1 year of start
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
Health & Immunization Requirements
Candidates must complete all health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing the contract (if booked within 30 days of start):
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (updated annually)
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start (updated annually); if failed, PAPR use with education required
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years (TD not accepted)
- Negative TB test (Qgold, Tspot, or 2-step PPD) within 1 year; if positive, negative chest X-ray within 10 years and annual TB questionnaire required
- Immunizations or positive titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (surface antibody positive titer, completed series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer, vaccination, or documented history)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season (documentation deadline December 3)
- Drug screening within 30 days of start (specific panel required; instant drug screens not accepted)
- Snellen eye exam within 1 year of start (not required annually)
Additional Requirements
- Clear, passport-style photo for badge
- Review of patient confidentiality, sexual harassment prevention, patient experience training, and other facility-specific policies prior to start
- Completion of pre-employment compliance attestations and modules before start date
- 7-year work history verification (Aya’s attestation letter accepted as last resort)
- Two professional references required (per agency baseline)
