Medical Surgical RN Travel Contract

Overview

• Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Night, 3x12 hours
• Hours per week: 36
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Start timing: 3–4 weeks out, depending on compliance

Unit and patient care

• Medical-surgical unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Telemetry required
• Care includes drains, flap monitoring, tracheostomy and total laryngectomy care, tube feeding, phlebotomy, IV access, central line management, and wound care
• Unit serves ENT and Plastic Surgery patients, including cuffed/cuffless tracheostomies, total laryngectomies, carotid blowout precautions, and free flap patients

Required qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Med Surg (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• CPI
• Plastic Surgery experience
• ENT Surgery experience
• First-time travelers accepted
• Pending license accepted

Schedule and assignment details

• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope may be required
• Block scheduling is not available
• No on-call requirement
• Local candidates are not accepted within a 75-mile radius
• Up to 7 days of RTO allowed per 13-week contract

• Government-issued ID required
• Background check required
• Education verification required
• Employment application required
• Skills checklist required
• Two professional references required
• Physical exam required within 1 year of start
• Fit testing required
• Drug screening required within 1 year of start
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
• TB documentation required
• HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, latex allergy questionnaire, hand hygiene policy, dress code policy, and regulatory compliance education are required
• Orientation modules are required for RNs
