Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Dothan, Alabama
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (4 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Unit Details:

• 42 beds on unit
• Up to 1:6 or 1:7 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Facility is a 400-bed Level 2 Trauma Center

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama
• Minimum of 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Completion of Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement

Documentation & Compliance Requirements

• Bring valid Driver’s License on first day; name must match RN license exactly
• Social Security Card or last four digits of SSN must be provided
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, SS trace, county, nationwide, FACIS Level 3, sex offender, education verification
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals
• Education verification via clearinghouse, agency, or official transcript
• Completion of facility-specific orientation safety manual acknowledgement
• Shirley’s Law APS Clearance Form and results (time sensitive, must be completed prior to orientation)
• Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands, updated annually
• Annual fit mask test (specific approved masks only)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; TB questionnaire required for all candidates
• Immunizations or titers required for: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella (with booster or declination if low titer)
• Drug testing: 10-panel within 90 days of start, updated annually; instant/rapid tests not accepted
• Flu vaccination required for placements starting on or after September 15; no declinations accepted except medical or religious exemptions on facility form (mask required if exempt)
• COVID vaccine is voluntary

Competency Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
• Core Exams I-III from Prophecy highly preferred (HIPAA attestation required)
• Skills checklist updated annually

Facility Specifics

• Facility will send required modules directly to candidate; must be completed by Friday prior to start at 12 PM EST
• Additional Apex training assigned for ER, CCU, and Neuro ICU specialties (not applicable here)
• Photo for badge required within 72 hours of signing; passport-style headshot with light background, no nose rings allowed
• Preferred badge name must be confirmed prior to start
• Religious and medical vaccination exemption forms must be completed on facility-specific forms

• Candidate must confirm all position details (shift, location, housing) and be ready to sign contract if offered
• 48 hours prior to start, any pending background checks must be completed with instant results if necessary
• License renewals expiring during assignment must be renewed and proof provided before start; no exceptions
