Registered Nurse – Telemetry Unit (Travel/Contract)

Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Work Environment

Heart & Vascular Unit (49 beds), specialty medical/surgical, fast-paced cardiovascular care
Patient population includes stable heart and lung transplants, and Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs)
Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:5 (days), 1:6 (nights), occasionally 1:7 nights (rare)
Drip infusions required on all floors
EPIC electronic charting system used
Floating required frequently to various units within the hospital system, including neuro, trauma, observation, and sister cardiac units
100% nicotine-free facility
Weekend shifts: 4 out of 8 possible in a 4-week period (days: Sat/Sun; nights: Fri/Sat)
Holiday work requirement: Must work 2 out of 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s)

Schedule & Shift Details

Night shift only: 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Option for 36 or 48-hour shifts available (based on contract terms)

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska
Minimum 2 years telemetry nursing experience, with telemetry experience within the last year
Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Experience with EPIC electronic charting system
Valid Driver’s License
