Pediatric Behavioral Health Registered Nurse - Oregon City, OR

Job Type

• Travel/Contract assignment
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Shifts: Night (3x12 hours, 7 PM to 7 AM) and Day (3x12 hours, 7 AM to 7 PM)
• Hours per week: 36
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Floating between units based on needs and skill set (may float to multiple nearby facilities)
• Expected nurse-to-patient ratios: 5:1 (day and evening), 10:1 (night)

• Scrub color: Any color allowed except OR/Critical Care/ED/Maternal Child units (scrubs provided there)

Location Requirements

• Must have a vehicle for assignment and floating between facilities within reasonable distance

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum of 1 year of Pediatric Behavioral Health experience, with experience within the last year
• Behavioral Health experience
• Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification

Background and Compliance

• Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; updated annually
• Education verification required (nursing degree)
• Drug screen (9 panel) within 12 months of start
• References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
• Employment application covering at least last 5 years
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
• Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates
• Immunizations and health requirements:

  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer or declination
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer or declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination
  • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted
• Fit mask test required annually (travel only)
• State-specific searches and attestations as applicable

Additional Requirements

• Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required
• Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
• Epic training modules required prior to or shortly after orientation
• Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units

Notes

• No first-time travelers accepted for this position
• Floating may include multiple facilities in the region
• Hotel accommodations provided if floating consecutive shifts to certain locations
• Facility will provide as much notice as possible for floating assignments
