Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Location: Mansfield, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule

• Weekend only position: Saturday, Sunday, Monday
• Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• On-call required on weekends and holidays

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience, with OR experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

Certifications (as applicable to Operating Room RN)

• BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC accepted at start; must renew with AHA only
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for Operating Room and other critical care areas
• Pass/Fail Testing:

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score, two attempts allowed)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (if applicable to unit; verify with job description)
• Other certifications (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM) are not specifically required for Operating Room but may be required for other units

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or Passport) with matching name on all documents
• E-Verify or attestation required
• Background checks within 30 days of start, including:

  • 7-year county criminal background search for all locations lived/worked
  • Sex offender search
  • State police investigation (if applicable)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Education verification for RN license
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Drug testing: 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (no rapid screens)
• Fit mask test completed onsite during orientation, updated annually
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Hepatitis B: Vaccine series and positive titer OR signed facility-specific declination form
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap required
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titers or documentation of 2 MMR vaccines; boosters required if titers low/equivocal
  • Varicella: Positive titers or documentation of 2 vaccines; boosters required if titers low/equivocal
  • Negative TB test (TSpot or QGold) within 12 months; annual TB questionnaire if positive history
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• Photo for badge (passport style, head and shoulders, clear background)
• Completion of facility-specific forms including job description acknowledgment and internet access form
• Two professional references within 3 years of hire

Additional Notes

• Candidates must sign facility-specific declination forms if declining vaccines
• Medication and Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exams have strict passing requirements and limited attempts
• On-call and holiday work are mandatory components of this role
