Job Description
- Perform routine and specialized computerized tomography (CT) procedures.
- Produce quality images for diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and prevention of injury or disease.
- Work independently using sound judgment and clinical skills to ensure safe, precise, and timely procedures.
- Gain patient and healthcare provider cooperation through competent assessment, monitoring, and communication.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety.
- May perform specific procedures and assist in orienting other staff to the department.
Requirements
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA)
- California CRT Licensure
- California Venipuncture licensure
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
Shift Details
- 3 shifts per week, 10 hours each (Friday to Sunday)
- Friday: 11:30 AM – 10:00 PM
- Saturday & Sunday: 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- No on-call or weekend call requirements
Background Checks & Compliance
- 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and motor vehicle report if applicable.
- FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required and updated annually.
- Transcript/Diploma and Education Verification required.
- Sex Offender Search must be run within 90 days of start.
- OFAC Sanctions List Search required if FACIS III cannot be run.
- State-specific Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List search if FACIS III cannot be run.
Certifications (Verify by Position)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA or ARC
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – AHA/AAP; Instructor or Advanced Provider Course required for NICU RNs
- CCRN (Critical Care RN)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – valid for 4 years
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – typically for Labor & Delivery
- IV Certification (Venipuncture) – may be required for MRI and CT Techs
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
- NIH Stroke Certification
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
- Other certifications as applicable to specialty and position
Competency Exams (As Applicable)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
- Competency Exam with minimum passing score of 80% or Angoff score if higher
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (for some telemetry units)

- Fit Mask Test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (specific mask types accepted)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years or lifetime with booster within 10 years
- Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT within 90 days) or 2 PPDs (1 within 1 year, 2nd within 90 days)
- Immunizations or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or signed declination during flu season (11/1 - 4/30)
- Color Blind Exam (in-person, if applicable)
- Respiratory Safety Clearance (renewed annually, not required for some roles)
Employment History & References
- Full 7 years of work history required in application (including city and state)
- Employment verification for up to 7 years required; gaps over 30 days must be explained
- 2 professional references required for clinical/allied/per diem acute care candidates; 1 for per diem non-acute care
