RN / PCU (Renal)

Overview

• Travel/Contract RN / PCU (Renal) in Kansas City, Missouri
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 18:45–7:15
• 36 hours per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• First-timers accepted: Yes
• Floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
• Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments may be needed
• Ratio: 1:5, with rare flex to 1:6
• Locals not accepted; home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
• On-call not required
• Block scheduling not accommodated
• RTO limit: no more than 7 days
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Renal PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
• Renal PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Renal transplant experience
• PD catheter experience
• Hemodialysis experience
• Drain management experience
• TPN (total parenteral nutrition) experience
• Diabetes encephalopathy experience
• Acute renal rejection experience
• Thymo administration experience

Preferred Qualifications

• CVA
• Surgical drains
• Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac
• Tracheostomy Management
• Thymo titration

Unit / Clinical Notes

• PCU (Renal)
• Hemodialysis is not required to be performed by unit RNs because the site has a contracted dialysis process
• All transplant patients are 2:1 for 48 hours
• PD Caths are noted in the special requirements
