Medical Surgical RN Travel Contract

Location

• Battle Creek, Michigan

Assignment Details

• Travel/contract role
• Duration: 26 weeks
• Day shift, 3x12 hours
• Hours per week: 36
• Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted at a rate differential
• 36 or 48 hours per week may be available
• Floating required to other Med Surg units
• Works every other weekend
• Holiday requests are not accepted, though dates may be discussed with the manager
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed or approved at this time

Unit Overview

• Observation unit with 10 ER overflow beds
• Typical patient ratio on days is 1:4-5; can be up to 1:7 when paired RN/LPN staffing is used
• Fast-paced unit focused on reassessment, discharge readiness, admissions, and discharges
• ER experience will be considered

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Michigan
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Med Surg (1 year of experience)
• Med Surg experience within the last year

Preferred Experience

• Travel experience is strongly preferred, though more overall experience may be considered instead

Work Environment

• Must be willing to work with a variety of staff, including RNs, LPNs, and techs
